Prevent Women from dying

PREVENT WOMEN FROM DYING. Help prevent breast cancer

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia.  1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime, and 8 Australian women lose their life every day.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research to create a better tomorrow for all those impacted.

The mission is simple: stop deaths from breast cancer. How? By identifying, funding and championing world-class research - that help detect tumours earlier, improve treatment outcomes, and ultimately save lives.  The goal zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.

Empower at-risk young mumsEMPOWER AT-RISK YOUNG MUMS. Provide mentoring and support

Bump is a six month mentoring and education program empowering young mothers to break the cycle of disadvantage and build their skills and confidence to thrive, both as parents and individuals.  Helping shape the future of two generations.
Aged between 13 and 23, many pregnant and young mothers participating in the Bump program
report having felt trapped in toxic relationships with low self-worth.  1 in 2 have experienced domestic violence and 1 in 3 suffer from anxiety or a mental health condition. The Raise Foundation's bump program helps teenage mothers break the cycle of disadvantage.

Keep girls in school

KEEP GIRLS IN SCHOOL. Help girls in zimbabwee make their own sanitary pads, so they don't miss school.

Millions of girls in developing countries like Zimbabwe miss up to 20% of the school year or completely drop out simply because they can't afford menstrual hygiene products.
Plan International Australia trains community health workers and school
representatives to debunk myths and taboos around menstruation and teach girls to make their own sanitary pads.  Being able to have this simple protection that we take for granted, affording the girls a complete education impacting on the rest of their lives.
